Ideas on requirements for ACTIVE DSD membership (current members - c/o 2015 and future classes)

• Must attend at least one rush event

• Must attend initiation ceremony

• Two community service events per semester (not including community service rush event)

• Two social events per semester

• Participate on at least one committee (yearbook, academic tutoring, alumni outreach) or hold an officer position

• Attend one DSD chapter meeting a semester

• D4s are exempt from these requirements with the exception of the End of the Year banquet (attendance requested and highly recommended)

 

Initiating members must

• Attend all rush events

• Attend initiation ceremony

• Pay fee in full (D1: $350, D2: $325, D3: $300)

• Meet all active DSD requirements (above)

 

Benefits of being an active DSD member (effective July 2014 and onward)

• 10% discount off of DSD fundraising items

• 10% discount off of personalized ad space in yearbook

• 25% reimbursement on shared hotel room on DSD trips (must be DSD-approved hotel)

• End of the year banquet

• Possible surprise gifts

• Networking with DSD alumni and other DSD chapters

• Professional development seminars

• Sim and didactic tutoring including access to DSD notes in the library

 

Rules

• Benefits apply to those who were active the previous semester with the exception of new initiates and D4s in their spring semester

• 2 consecutive semesters as inactive is grounds for dismissal from the Alpha Nu chapter and nationally

• Dismissal is also warranted in other situations (academic dishonesty, legal troubles, etc.) as decided on by the majority of the executive committee and the DSD officer cabinet
